The Carbon School District weekly update gives schools in the district an opportunity to stop into the Castle Country Radio stations to let the community know what is going on with the school and their students.
Mont Harmon Middle School students are currently busy with Red Ribbon week activities. “On Thursday we are doing Team Up Against Drugs and we want all the kids to wear their favorite team jersey, a shirt, a jacket anything that shows team spirit for their chosen team,” said Assistant Principal Karen Bedont (Be-don’t). “Then finally on Friday, we are going to do Black Out Drugs and so we’re going to ask the kids to wear all black.” The activities all week have been a hit with both students and faculty.
An afterschool Science Club is held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for each grade with Mr. Lauritsen (Law-rit-son). He has different activities each week that are fun for the students. “They’ve gone fishing, they most recently went up to the buffalo roundup on Antelope Island, they took a Saturday and went up there,” said Bedont. They also have been able to star gaze with the big telescopes when the weather permits them.
