William Lee Haycock, age 79, passed away November 17, 2016 after a brief illness.
He was born February 15, 1937 in Kansas City, Kansas to William Hyrum and Ruth Lasher Haycock. Married Eleanor Basso, September 24, 1955 in Price and they were blessed with two sons prior to their divorce. On March 1, 1997, Bill married his best friend Linda Leigh Reid Hreinson in Spring Glen.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. After working at various coal mines in the area, Bill went to work and eventually retired from the Carbon County School District as a custodian. Bill cherished the friendships that he made at work and loved nothing more than telling stories about the people he worked and associated with.
Bill was a very meticulous and loved nothing more than decking out his vehicles. He was a talented craftsman who enjoyed wood-working and creating unique decorations for his yard. Bill will be sorely missed by his family and many dear friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Haycock, Helper; sons, Randy (Joni) Haycock, Glendale, AZ, Jeff (Carey) Haycock, Price, Michael (Brandy) Hreinson, Spring Glen, Dave (Katie) Hreinson, Huntington; sister, Ruth (Al) Weiland, Grand Junction, CO; special friend, Tom; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a community of friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
