Dennis Francis Carter, age 68, passed away December 2, 2016 after his battle with heart disease and cancer due to Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam.

He was born of January 22, 1948, in Provo, Utah to Elmer and Ardella Conklin Carter.  He married Carla Perkins, and they had two children together, Travis Dennis Carter and Brandi Carter; they later divorced.  He married Ralyn Nielsen Carter, February 25, 1989 in Price, Utah.  They had one child together, Nikki Lyn Carter.

Denny served two tours as a Marine in Vietnam.  The last tour was with the 1-9, also known as the “Walking Dead”, at which time he was wounded and sent home with an Honorable Disabled Discharge.  He was awarded a Purple Heart for his service.  Had he not been injured, he would have made the Marines his career.  As he always said, “Once a Marine, always a Marine.”

Most of all, Den enjoyed riding his Harley with his friends, who are too numerous to name individually.  You all know who you are, and we thank you for your friendship.

He is survived by his wife Ralyn, Price, Utah; daughter, Nikki Lyn, Cedar City, Utah; brothers, Dave (Diana) Carter, Don (Jerrie) Carter; sister, Della May Roberts, all of Provo, Utah; sister-in-law, Sherry (Lynn) Jolley, Las Vegas, Nevada; many nieces and nephews who loved him and will miss him very much. Also survived by his girlfriend Brittney Park of Cedar City, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Travis; daughter, Brandi; brother, Roger; sisters, Jeannie Carter & Dori Peay; brothers-in-law, Donald Peay and Les Roberts; and one of his best friends, Jamie Sanchez.

We wish to thank his hospice nurse and dear friend Diane Tadehara with Symbii Hospice for everything she did to make Denny comfortable during his final time.
