Returned to her heavenly father Nov 29, 2016, after a courageous short battle with cancer.
LeRee was born Sept 26, 1949 in Salina Utah, five minutes after her identical twin sister LeRae. She was born to Victor Eugene Stuart and Lola LeRee Robison Stuart. LeRee was the middle of 5 children.
Since her dad worked for UDOT they moved with his job, her childhood was spent moving from town to town in Utah. After many years of moving her family home was finally settled in Price, Utah. Where at Carbon High she meet and fell in love with her lifelong sweetheart, Paul F. Burgess. When Paul was in Vietnam She anxiously waited for him to come home. He came home and they married within the week, on Dec 30, 1971. To their union there were 3 children born, Gene, Robert and Penny.
LeRee and Paul lived in Texas for a few years before they moved back to Price to be near family. Then in 1987 when Paul’s career moved them to Blanding the plan was to live there for 6 months to a year which quickly turned into over thirty years.
LeRee was a dedicated worker, volunteer and friend to everyone. She worked many jobs including cashier, substitute teacher, and waitress; however she is probably best known for her 20 plus years of driving school bus for San Juan School District. She was still driving school bus up until she was hospitalized.
LeRee had many church callings and she loved them all. Her favorite church callings involved scouting. She devoted many years to scouting and held many positions including district scout leader. On May 5, 1990 she was awarded The Silver Beaver Award. The highest award any volunteer scout master can achieve. She was very honored and humbled by this award.
Being a military wife and head of family support for the Blanding detachment of the National Guard, LeRee saw her husband deployed to a number of wars, conflicts, and trainings. She always held down the home front. She gladly took many other wives under her wing and cared for them while their husbands were gone.
She was a very caring mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was always worried about how everyone was doing and how their day was. She wanted to make sure no one went hungry and that everyone knew they were loved.
LeRee leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Paul Burgess, Blanding. Her Children: Gene (Ann Marie) Burgess, Robert (Debbie) Burgess, and Penny (Ronald) Gough, all of Blanding, UT. 7 grandchildren: Ray, Matt, Michael, Alexis, Ashley, Samuel, and Isabelle (due in 1 week).
