Not even one week after Brandon and Nicole Olsen’s home was ravaged by fire, the community rallied around the family on Sunday, Dec. 11 at Sherald’s Frosty Freeze for a breakfast fundraiser.
The Olsen’s suffered an accidental fire on Thursday, Dec. 8 in the early morning hours that left them without a home. The family and their pets escaped without any harm due to their working fire alarm.
Jana Olsen, owner and operator of Sherald’s Frosty Freeze in Price did not hesitate to break regular business hours and agreed to be opened on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm for a breakfast fundraiser. Olsen along with her staff worked
tirelessly on what is usually a day off to help a young family get back on their feet.
Friends, neighbors and strangers stopped in to order breakfast items such as Breakfast burritos, French toast sticks, Ham and cheese omelets, Early bird sandwiches, coffee and hot chocolate were a few of the items on the menu. Although the event was scheduled till 1:00 pm, the cooking didn’t stop till around 2:00 pm.
The total amount of proceeds earned was $4,142.08, which includes $407.00 raised by Wayne Clausing and his staff at Sutherlands.
If community members were unable to attend the breakfast benefit but would like to help the Olsen Family there is an account set up in their name at Eastern Utah Community Credit Union.
Be sure on your next visit to Sherald’s and Sutherlands to thank them for a job well done
