Nedra Irene Watkins Cooper, age 86, passed away at her home in Sandy, Utah on December 18, 2016 due to complications from a stroke on Thursday.

Nedra was born to a family of 11 children, on August 1, 1930 to Earl Lee and Lena Lovina Owen Watkins in Spring Canyon, Utah. She married Frederick Harold Cooper on August 20, 1950 in Price, Utah. She lived in Price her whole life until moving to Sandy two years ago to be closer to family.

Nedra was a secretary at the US Forest Service for 20 years and a member of Price United Methodist Church for nearly her whole life. She was active in Order of Eastern Star Naomi Chapter #13, Daughters of the Nile, and the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Survivors include: daughters Jody (Mark) Jensen, Riverton, Utah and Lori (David) Salter, Sandy. Grandchildren: Amber (Ryan) Garlick, Sandy; Steven (Alexis) Jensen, North Salt Lake; Scott, Natalie & Lillian Salter, Sandy. Great-grandchildren include Alyssa & Justin Garlick; Brady & Cameron Jensen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the oldest and youngest brothers, Lewis E. & Richard A. “Sonny” both died young; Darrell E., Harry C. (Margaret), Kenneth W. “Ginger”, Max O. (Josephine), Thomas E. (LeIsle), and sisters Anna Laura (Robert) Glasgow, Grace (Roy) Eriksen, and Dixie Lee (Bernard) Bailey.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main, Price, Utah). Family will receive friends Thursday morning from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm prior to services. Interment will be at the Price City Cemetery.
