The Emery Lady Spartans managed to shake off early struggles and remain unbeaten in region play with another victory at the Palisades Golf Course Wednesday afternoon.

Sydnee Guymon racked up a team best 36 points to lead the Lady Spartans to a 126-119 win over the Grand Red Devils. The Manti Templars finished with 62 points in third place, followed by Gunnison and San Juan.

Tajiah Price was once again solid for Emery, finishing the meet with 34 points for the team’s second highest score. Lainee Jensen ended with 30 points, and Sarah Swasy logged 26 for the four scores. Sydney Timothy and Erin Oliverson ended with 24 and 20 points respectively.

With only three meets remaining before the State Championship meet on May 18, the Lady Spartans will continue the season next Wednesday. Scheduled meets at Hideout and Richfield remain on the slate in the final stretch.
