A troubled fourth inning hurt the Carbon Lady Dinos dearly as they suffered an 8-2 loss to the Juab Wasps at home Friday afternoon in Region 12.

Tied 0-0 entering the fourth inning, the Lady Dinos surrendered six runs to fall in a massive hole. Juab added two more runs in the sixth to take a commanding 8-0 lead. Carbon scored two in the bottom of the sixth, but was unable to get any closer in the loss.

Kelsey Sorenson finished 2-2 at the plate with two singles and walk, while scoring a run. As a team the Lady Dinos recorded just one RBI.

McKenna Sorenson was charged with the loss on the mound, while Taylie Williams recorded the win for Juab. The loss dips Carbon to 2-4, while Juab remains unbeaten at the top of the standings with a perfect 6-0 mark.

Only two region games remain for the Lady Dinos, both of which will take place on the road. Carbon is currently one game ahead of the Richfield Wildcats for the final playoff spot in the division. The two teams will meet for the second and final time of the season on Tuesday.

A win for Carbon would clinch a playoff berth, while a loss would put the team in a possible must win situation Friday against Canyon View. The Lady Dinos earned a win in the first meeting with Richfield 7-2 back on April 4.
