The Emery Lady Spartans delivered their most outstanding team effort of the season as with yet another first place region finish Wednesday at the Mountain View golf course in West Jordan.

Sydnee Guymon posted the meet’s stop score with 42 points as Emery finished 140. Grand followed in second with 113 points, easily topping third-place Manti’s 53. Gunnison and San Juan completed the field of the five.

Emery’s Lainee Jensen delivered the meet’s second highest score with a 36, and teammate Tajiah Price ended third by scoring 33. Sarah Swasy and Sydney Timothy both scored 29, while Erin Oliverson finished with 22. The top four individual scores count towards the team’s final total.

Wednesday’s stellar performance comes just one week after the lowest output of the season. The win at Mountain View not only keeps Emery’s unbeaten streak alive, but also comes at the site of this year’s state championship meet.

Two meets remain on the season for the Lady Spartans, including trips to Richfield and Hideout. The state championship meet is less than a month away, set for May 17.
