The Carbon Dinos wrapped up the regular season with an easy 12-1 win over Skyridge in six innings Friday afternoon in Lehi.
Playing in their final game before the 3A State Championship Tournament, the Dinos wasted little time creating an advantage on the scoreboard. After scoring two runs in the first inning, the Dinos added three more in both the third and fourth to pull away for good.
Zac Bradley recorded the win on the mound, giving up just two hits in three innings of work Chase Morgan and Cody Lowe finished off the final three innings, giving up zero hits, while allowing one unearned run.
All three pitchers received excellent run support as the Dinos accumulated ten hits. Morgan, Jayden Flemmett and Wyatt Wilson each registered two RBI, while Wilson recorded a double. Cody Lowe, Collin Lewis and Gavin Robinett all finished with one RBI.
Friday’s win brings Carbon to 12-10 overall after they ended league play at 7-5. While Friday’s game had no state tournament seeding implications, it does give the Dinos a positive to build off of entering the season ending tournament.
Saturday Carbon will travel to Park City for the first two rounds of the state championship tournament. Up first will be a meeting with Desert Hills, the No. 2 seed from Region 9. A win could pit Carbon up against the host school Park City in the second round.
Saturday’s contest is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.. Stay tuned to Castle Country Radio for a preview of the state tournament as manager Jeff Cisneros joins Drive Time Sports on Wednesday.
