With Lighthouse, Pinnacle and Carbon High School graduations upon us, all local law enforcement administrators would like to remind students to be responsible and safe during their celebrations.

Officers are ramping up patrols to discourage under age drinking on graduation night, as well as stepping up enforcement of this issue during the summer months. Utah law states its illegal for anyone under the age of 21 years old to consume alcohol. Those who provide alcohol to minors are also breaking the law and will be held liable for any incident that might occur due to teen drinking.

Parents can do their part by opening the lines of communication and talking to their teens about the repercussions of underage drinking and put limits on where they can go to celebrate.

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Department, Price City Police, Helper City Police, Wellington Police and East Carbon Police congratulate all the graduates on their accomplishments and remind each teen to celebrate in a safe and responsible manner.

If community members have concerns about possible underage drinking occurring they are encourage to call dispatch.
