Utah State University Eastern freshman infielder Cassidy Howe was named to the Scenic West Athletic Conference Second Team following a standout campaign in 2017.
Ending the regular season with a .395 batting average, Howe registered 33 RBIs, 49 hits, nine doubles, and 30 runs, all of which led the team in the program’s inaugural season.
Batting lead off for most of the season, Howe appeared in every game throughout the year. She also proved to be consistent in the field producing a .872 fielding percentage, to go along with 102 putouts.
After struggling to 5-35 record in the regular season, the Lady Eagles shocked the No. 3 seeded Southern Nevada Coyotes. Despite losing the next two games, Howe continued to lead the offensive and even posted a 3-3 game against Southern Nevada.
