All Six golfers on the Emery High School 2017 state championship team received 2A All-State honors to cap off a dominating season.

Sydnee Guymon, Taijah Price and Lainee Jensen all received First Team selections for their outstanding campaign. Sarah Swasey and Sydney Timothy were named to the Second Team, while Erin Oliverson earned an honorable mention.

Consisting of five seniors, the six girls managed to improve on last year’s second place finish at the state tournament. Topping Rowland Hall by nine points in the Modified Stableford scoring system, the Lady Spartans finished with 285 points in the final meet.

Completing her high school golf career on top, Guymon was on of only seven golfers in all classifications to receive an award for being an All-State selection in each of her four years at Emery. Price was also recognized for being an All-State selection for three years.

In four years of existence the Emery girl’s golf team has won four consecutive region championships, and has to lose a region meet.
