The Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments (SEUALG) formally invites members of the community to attend a reception on Wednesday, June 14 at 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm with special guest speaker, Jen Nibley, Director of Arrive Utah which operates the Utah Valley Circles Program.
Circles is a community based program helping individuals and families out of poverty. Unfortunately, the cycle of poverty is nearly impossible to climb out of, especially for those born into it. There are several factors that contribute to why poverty still exists. The economy, cost of living, education, wages, health insurance, housing, transportation, and mental health all play a role.
The reception is a great opportunity to talk about poverty in Carbon County and discuss ways individuals can help facilitate the Circles program to help community members out of poverty.
If you are interested in attending the open house guests must RSVP by Friday, June 9 by either emailing Katie Marquez at kmarquez@seualg.utah.gov or calling 613-0064. Event organizers want a head-count so that they will have enough food prepared for lunch which will be served during the event.
