USU Eastern is involved with the CARE Program and the Faith Based Initiative both of which deal with the drug problem in our area through Chancellor Joe Peterson. The entire community is affected by the drug problem including USU Eastern. The Faith based initiative is divided in three parts, community values, mental health, and law enforcement. It is an outshout of the CARE program. Another program USU Eastern is involved with is the Circle Program fighting intergenerational poverty.
