Unable to produce offensively, the Price Raptors suffered back-to-back losses to St. George in the season opener Saturday at the USU Eastern baseball complex.

Playing host do a double-header, Price was hit with a 15-0 loss in the opening contest. Despite battling in the second contest, a late St. George resulted in a near identical outcome in a 15-1 decision.

Remington Motte provided a bright spot for Price as he finished 3-7 at the plate during the two games, and scored the lone run. Trevor Pummell also donated a few solid innings of work from the mound as Price dipped to 0-2 in Southern Division play.

Price will have an opportunity to log their first league victory of the season when they return to the field on Wednesday for a double-header against Vernal. The first contest is scheduled for a 4:00 pm start, with the second game following immediately after.

Following Wednesday’s set Price will continue the season with its first road contest against Corner Canyon on Friday.
