Representative Chris Watkins is in the process of formulating bills that will be proposed in the legislative session of 2018. Bills can be started as soon as May the previous year to the session. She works closely with legislative council, which are lawyers who write the verbiage of the bill. After Chris is satisfied with the language, it can be read and discussed with other legislators, or interested community leaders. She must find a senate sponsor as well. The final bill is heard in the assigned committee of the legislature. It is voted on in both the house and senate. If the bill passes both houses it sent to the governor.
