Emery High School Sophomore Bailey Huggard and junior Addy Healy have earned 2A All-State Honorable Mentions for outstanding individual performances during the 2017 softball campaign.

Leading the team throughout the season on both sides of the field, Huggard accumulated a record of 7-7 on the mound as the team’s everyday pitcher. Helping her own cause on offense, Huggard tied for the team lead in home runs with three, while knocking five doubles and one triple.

Healy emerged as one of the team’s leaders offensively with eight doubles, one triple and one home run in 26 games. Defensively Healy was a mainstay behind the plate as catcher, working regularly with Huggard.

Emery qualified for the state tournament after finishing third in the 2A East with a record of 6-4. The Lady Spartans rallied past Duchesne in the opening round of the state tournament, but suffered back-to-back losses to Enterprise and South Sevier in the following games to end the season.
