Carbon High School junior Kelsey Sorenson has earned a 3A All-State Honorable Mention for her contributions to the Lady Dinos softball team during the 2017 season.

Playing second base in the field, Sorenson batted a hefty .438 throughout the season, and accumulated a .512 on-base-percentage. Adding to the impressive offensive numbers, Sorenson struck out just twice in 100 at bats.

Tabbed as the lone Carbon player to receive All-State Honors, Sorenson was instrumental in the team’s success which included wins over Morgan and Stansbury in the state tournament. Region wins over Richfield and North Sanpete helped the Lady Dinos qualify for the state tournament as a four-seed.

The 3A All-State teams were selected by each of the coaches in the classification and the Deseret News selects a MVP from the group.
