The Pleasant Valley Days committee would like to invite everyone to come to Scofield for their annual celebration taking place on Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1. This celebration has become to be a family tradition for decades with activities for all ages during the fourth of July weekend.

Both Friday and Saturday there will be several vendors set up in the park with various items such as food, crafts, retail and other unique items. There will be a dinner in the park beginning at 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm with a cost of $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.

The committee has made a tough decision this year and will not host the Little Miss Pleasant Valley Days pageant this year. Instead they have decided to host a talent show some time on Saturday for spectators to enjoy.

On Saturday morning, plan on attending the famous breakfast in the park at 7:00 am till 10:00 am. The hearty meal will feature pancakes, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, coffee or orange juice, with a cost of $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under the age of 12.

Participants in the parade will need to be at Church Street by 10:00 am for registration and judging. The parade itself will begin at 11:00 am with creative floats exhibiting their version of this year’s theme A Star-Spangled Fourth of July. Following the parade, there will be games in the park such as a dunk tank, tug of war, live entertainment and returning this year is the doubles horseshoe tournament. Due to the number of horseshoe pits available inside the park, the tournament is limited to 20 teams, so early registration is strongly encouraged by calling (435) 820-6636.

New this year, is the old Mine Disaster exhibit located at the school from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, also a free treasure hunt will be held at 2:00 pm for children.

The winners of the silent auction will be announced at 5:00 pm at the park pavilion, with live family entertainment set to begin at 7:00 pm, with dancing at 9:30 pm till midnight.

The festivity will close out with an amazing firework display on the lake starting at dark. Guests are invited to watch from the park while listening to live music or they may find a safe place around the lake to enjoy the show.
