With less than a month remaining in the American Legion baseball season, the Sevier Rams have taken over sole possession of first place in the Utah Southern Division.

Comprised of nine teams, the Rams stand as the only unbeaten squad at 5-0 at the midpoint of the season. Pleasant Grove and Helper trail the leader by just one game in the loss column. Fourth place Vernal holds the most wins with eight, but is currently two back of Sevier in the loss column.

Eight of the nine teams in the league were awarded two wins and an automatic spot in the season ending division tournament on July 20 as Corner Canyon forfeited the remainder of the season. The division tournament will feature eight teams, with the top four advancing to the state tournament to meet the top teams from the Northern Division.

Helper will return to the field on Tuesday at home in double-header action against Pleasant Grove beginning at 6:00 p.m.. Price will also return to the field on Tuesday with a home double-header against Roosevelt, scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
