The US Postal Service is working to remain competitive in our electronic world. With email, their most profitable service of first class mail has steadily decreased in volume and revenue over the last several years. The Post Office does not receive any tax dollars. They are completely financially self-sufficient. They are making every effort to decrease overhead expenses. They have partnered with United Parcel Service AND FedEx to help deliver their packages while those companies carry on their planes first class and priority mail.
