The annual International Days Kids Day sponsored by Castleview Hospital will start the festivities off for the littlest members of the community on Friday, July 28 with a bike/scooter or stroller parade at 9:30 am. Following the parade there will be free games and learning activities for kids under the age of 12 years old to enjoy from 10:00 am to noon on the lawn of the USU-Eastern’s WIB Building.
“We’ll have the bounce houses, snow cones and a lot more fun things for the kids and it is all free. The kids do not have to pay for anything and we are actually including this year a toddler station that will have things more geared towards the younger kids.” stated Angie Child, Castleview Hospital Marketing Representative
The Kids Day is made possible by several volunteers made up of physicians and their staff who will have different booths for kids to visit. “All the physicians get really excited, they love being around the kids and their staff will be there,” said Child. This is an occasion for kids to see their doctor outside of the office and have some fun with them. Other volunteers that are a huge part of the event is students from USU-Eastern and Carbon High Cheerleaders.
“Our Child Life Specialist, Belinda Thayne and her husband Dr. Thayne are going to be sponsoring a craft and it’s really cool we hang it up in the hospital every year after Kids Day, so the kids can come and see their final product,” said Child. Dr. Jensen will be sponsoring a squirt gun paint activity for children to help design a mural to hang in his office and Dr. Jefferey will be doing helmet safety with the kids, plus an opportunity to win a new helmet.
