Castle Country Radio held the Third Annual ‘So You Think You Can Sync?’ Lip Sync competition as part of the entertainment at Price City’s International Days celebration Saturday evening at Washington Park.

“Each year the event just gets bigger and bigger,” said Mallery Dunn, event emcee and morning show host on The Peak 95.3. “The community support is outstanding, and we as a station love how this event has grown. Once again the contestants did not disappoint, and the props that were used were some of the best we’ve seen.”

Ten acts, consisting of both solo and groups, competed in front of a large crowd that went beyond the bleachers and designated area inside the park. Each act brought something unique and innovative to the competition, but at the end, three stood out above the rest.

Nicholas Perkins claimed the hefty first place of $1,000.00 with his three and half minute mash up of Michael Jackson, Katy Perry and Beyonce’. Perkins sealed the deal with prop-filled rendition of Blake Shelton’s “Boys Round Here”.

After finishing just outside of the top three during the inaugural competition in 2015, Stanton Rodriguez finished second. Rodriguez’s interpretation of Queen’s classic “I Want to Break Free” and Rodney Atkins “Take a Back Road” was enough to take home the $500.00 prize.

Tyrell Clement rounded out the top three and earned $250.00. Clement delivered a unique performance to Bombadil’s “A Question”, while ending with “One Week” by the Barenaked Ladies.

The ten participants were judged on originality, appearance, and their ability to lip sync through two rounds. Each act picked their own song for the opening round, while the second song was randomly selected through a drawing upon registering.
