Ray Albert Prettyman, age 87, passed away in Price at his home in Gordon Creek on Aug 12, 2017, after a long battle with cancer, strokes, and heart problems. Ray was born June 25, 1930 in Price, Utah to Joe and Martha Deiter Prettyman.

Ray served in the Army during the Korean War, and at Camp Desert Rock in Nevada. Ray married Beth Keele on March 27, 1953. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Ray worked for the Carbon School District for 25 years, and the LDS Church for 20 years. Ray was an excellent provider for his family, in which he was deeply dedicated to. Ray loved spending time on his farm, where he was raised, and later purchased from his father.

Ray is survived by his wife Beth, his brother Derald Prettyman, sister Glenda Hansen, 4 children Raylene VanWagoner, Starla (Fred) Davis, Arlen Prettyman, Marty (Merilee) Prettyman, 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Martha Prettyman, siblings Jay Prettyman, Gordon Prettyman, Rachel Edwards, Dolly Edwards, Ronnie Prettyman, and Helen Prettyman.

At Ray’s request, there will be no funeral services. The family requests that in leu of flowers, a donation would be made to the charity of your choice.
