The Emery Lady Spartans earned their second victory of the non-region season with a 3-1 decision over the Beaver Beavers Tuesday afternoon in Castle Dale.

Alexis Winter scored her third and fourth goals of the season, while Jocee Funk scored for the third time in the two goal victory. The win snaps a two-game losing skid, and marks the first win at home this season for Emery.

Entering the final week of non-region play, Emery now sits 2-2 on the season. After easily defeating Gunnison 7-1 in the opener, the Lady Spartans suffered losses to Ben Lomond and Provo by a comined score of 10-0.

Emery will play in one more non-division contest on Thursday when the team travels to South Summit, before opening Region 15 play Tuesday at home against North Sanpete. Thursday’s road game will set a trend that has the Lady Spartans playing five of their next seven on the road.
