The Emery Spartans boy’s golf team participated in the fifth Region 15 meet of the season at the Palisades Golf Course Wednesday afternoon in Sterling, UT.

Despite a solid performance from Oakley Toomer, the Spartans finished last in the field of seven with a team score of 373. North Sanpete continued to stretch its lead at the top of the standings after firing a 301. Grand ended in second with a 316, while Richfield rounded out the top three with a 333. South Sevier, Manti and San Juan completed the order.

Shaidyn Killpack and Koda Alton delivered the the second and third scores for Emery as both ended with a 95. Jordan Ekker completed the team’s four scores with a 96. Logan Healy, Devin Guymon, Taylor Lindsey and Austin Albrecht also competed at the event.

The Spartans will continue the golf season on Thursday, Sept. 7 as the welcome the field to Millsite Golf Course. Through five meets Emery is in last place in the region, putting them on the outside looking in to qualifying for the State Championship Tournament.

Following next week’s meet the Spartans will travel to South Sevier, before completing region play on September 21 at the Carbon Country Club Course.
