Yesterday was a favorable day for fire resources as they met the following ignition objectives for the day:

• Forest Road (FR) #042 from the junction with FR #043 down to the junction with FR #032.
• FR #043 from the junction with FR #042 down a ridgeline into Mine Hollow.
• Mine Hollow down to Tie Fork Road.
• Partridge Ridge, Partridge Canyon and Timber Canyon.

This confine and contain strategy, using existing roads and natural features, is enabling fire resources to keep the fire from spreading farther north and east as the main fire meets the controlled ignition area.

Today’s operations will concentrate on igniting off Tie Fork Road from Mine Hollow down to West Canyon to meet the active fire on the east and keep it from moving further east beyond Tie Fork Road. Crews on the north and northeast will continue to secure the fire line to keep the fire east of Sheep Creek Road and south of Indian Springs Road.

Type 1 Crews (Hotshots) – 1
Type 2 Crews – 6
Engines/Tenders – 5/5
Dozers – 2
Helicopters – 5
Total Personnel – 355
