The Carbon Lady Dinos completed the season series sweep of the Union Cougars with a 3-0 victory Thursday afternoon in Roosevelt.

Holding a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half, the Lady Dinos scored two more goals in the second to cruise to a victory. Carbon also defeated Union 3-2 at home back on Aug. 22.

Elley Cowdell scored two goals to help push the Carbon offense, while Emma Haddock added another. The win brings an end to a two-game losing streak after setbacks to Juab and Delta.

Thursday’s victory improves the Lady Dinos to 3-4 in Region 14 play, giving them sole possession of fourth place. Maeser Prep is currently one-point ahead of Carbon with a record of 3-3-1. Juab is in second, trailing unbeaten Delta by two games for first in the division.

Carbon will return to the field on Tuesday as they welcome in Providence Hall for second and final meeting of the season. Providence Hall claimed a 2- 0 victory in the game back on Aug. 24.
