The Notre Dame Church’s Annual Oktoberfest Celebration will take place on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30 at the Hope Community Center located at 200 North Carbon Ave in Price.

“One of the great events of the Castle Country, family oriented, hopefully a good value for everybody. Lots of games, prizes, food, fun,” said an Event Organizer, Nick Tatton.

Friday activities will begin at 11:00 am, running through till 10:00 pm and Saturday will have the same start time and end at 11:00 pm.

Oktoberfest is always a fun time for the entire family. “There are some great volunteers that are setting up everything from bounce houses and fish ponds, all kinds of games and activities for kids, they need to be entertained and helped out and have some fun, as well as, the adults,” said Tatton. The activities that adults can enjoy is the silent auction, visit the religious store, partake games of BINGO, purchase baked goods and crafts.

Dinner will be served on both Friday and Saturday evening, Tatton added, “A great menu coming up, there’s a Mexican plate set up for Friday night and I think it’s chicken parm dinner on Saturday night, so some nice meals. We also have some of the great local kalbasa sausage there that will be cooked up for everybody, as well as, fair for the kids, so there is hot dogs and hamburgers and chips and things like that.”

All money raised from the event stay local and will benefit Notre Dame Church with its charitable and civic involvements. In past years, proceeds have facilitated car seats for kids, the Angel Tree program, some of the AP testing at Carbon High, programs at Castleview Hospital, as well as, assisted the DARE program. The amount of assistance that the church is able to offer depends on the success of the Oktoberfest event each year.

If you would like to volunteer, donate items to the silent auction or just make a monetary donation call the church at 637-1846.
