PRICE, UTAH – The National Junior College Athletic Association ranked Utah State Eastern volleyball 18 in the nation in the latest NJCAA Division I volleyball poll released on Tuesday.
The Eagles move one spot up the rankings this week after being ranked 19 in last week’s poll.
This is the fourth week in a row that the Eagles are ranked in the top 20 after starting the season unranked.
Along with the Eagles being ranked, three other Scenic West Athletic Conference teams were ranked in this week’s poll.
College of Southern Idaho moved up to # 2, Snow College moved up to 9 and Salt Lake dropped to 12 in the rankings.
Other teams that are on Utah State Eastern’s schedule who were in the top 20 include Western Nebraska and Seward County while Yavapai and Eastern Arizona received votes outside the top 20 rankings.
As a team the Eagles are ranked in the top ten in digs with 1180 through 17 games.
Freshman libero Megan Gurr is ranked sixth in the nation with 333 digs.
Sophomore Agatha Roese-Olsen is currently fourth in the country in assists with 619 assists.
Utah State Eastern’s overall record sits at 14-3 overall with a conference record of 1-0 after Saturday’s 3-0 win against Colorado Northwest at home.
The Eagles will travel to Las Vegas this Thursday to take on the College of Southern Nevada at 7 p.m.
On Saturday the Eagles will continue conference play as they head to Ephraim to take on # 9 Snow College at 1 p.m.
Three of the next four opponents on the Eagles’ schedule are ranked in the top 12 in the country.
