Ascension St. Matthew’s Church would like to invite everyone to their annual Fall Fare taking place on Friday, October 13 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday, October 14 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The festivities will be held at the church located at 522 North Homestead Boulevard, just south of Castle Heights Elementary in Price.
“We’ve been in the building since 2002, so the fare has been going on for a while. We have our homemade soups; soup is served with a roll and drink of your choice and the cost is minimal,” said Event Coordinator, Pam Adams. There will also be homemade chili, baked goods and canned garden goods available to purchase.
Back by popular demand is the breakfast casseroles and a beverage, which was a hit last year and can be purchased on Saturday morning.
Another fairly new activity will return, as Adams explains, “This is our third annual silent auction and the silent auction is donated by people from the community and also from our own Ascension St. Matthew’s members and other people.” Some of the items include gift baskets, certificates to local businesses for services or products and crafts. The silent auction will close it’s bidding at 12:00 pm on Saturday.
The church’s gift shop will be open for visitors during the event. “We have lots of one of kind items that are handmade, in other words, some of the old crafts like embroidery, quilting and this kind of thing and much, much more than that,” said Adams. Other items in the gift shop are Advent candles and wreaths, religious jewelry and Christmas crafts.
All the proceeds from the event go to community outreach and building fund. Any questions please call the church at 637-0106.
