The Carbon Lady Dinos dropped a 3-1 decision to the Juab Wasps in the regular season finale Thursday afternoon in Price.

Playing in front of the home crowd for the final time this season, the Lady Dinos entered the midway point trailing 1-0. Despite a second half goal from Elley Cowdell, Carbon was unable to keep pace with Juab who notched two more goals.

Tatum Hyatt found the back of the net twice Juab, while Sydney Kuhni scored once. The win for the Wasps completes a season sweep of Carbon, the first win came back on Sept. 12 by a final score of 3-0.

While Thursdays’ loss represents the fifth consecutive for the Lady Dinos, it had no meaning on the final region standings. With three division wins throughout the season, Carbon has been locked into the No. 6 seed for the past two weeks.

The season will continue for Carbon on Oct. 11 in the first round of the 3A State Championship Tournament. The Lady Dinos will square off with the Emery Lady Spartans in Castle Dale to start the single elimination format. Start time for the contest is set for 4:00 p.m..
