The Carbon Lady Dinos logged a second place finish, while the boys ended third in the Region 14 Cross Country finale Tuesday afternoon at Lakeside Park Orem, UT.
Junior Regan Hanson led the Lady Dinos by ending fifth individually with a time of 19:46.7. Emma Haddock and Grace Broadbear finished ninth and tenth, while Shannon Baker and Makara Morgan ended 11th and 12th.
The great individual performances helped Carbon top third place Union by 28 points. Juab strolled to a first place finish as four individuals ended in the top ten. American Leadership Academy, Delta and Providence Hall completed the field of six.
James Bryner posted the top individual performance for the boy’s team with a time of 17:25.7, finishing 10th overall. Ammon Wilson, Jacob Jewkes, and Anthony Jones all finished in the top 20 to help the Dinos to a third place finish.
Delta cruised to a first place finish by accumulating just 57 points. Union and Carbon tied for second, but the Cougars were given second place due to the finishing time of both school’s sixth place runner. Providence Hall, Maeser Prep, Juab and ALA completed the field.
With the region cross country season now complete the Dinos will look ahead to the state championship competition on Oct. 18 at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City.
