USU-Eastern Concert and Chamber Choir would like to invite everyone to their Fall Sing Concert on Tuesday, October 17 and Wednesday, October 18 at 7:30 pm. The is the first performance of the year and will be held at the Central Instruction Building inside the Deane Brown Instrumental Studio. Tickets will be available at the door, the cost is $5.00 for adults, $1.00 for USU-Eastern Students and children under 18 years old.
There will be two groups performing, as Freshman, Chelsea Faquiry explains, “Expect to see the Mass in G by Franz Schubert highlighted as well as other pieces by our Chamber Choir and our Concert Choir. So, personally I’m really excited, I really like what we are singing, especially the Mass because it’s something that I have never down before.” This talented young lady comes from Alpine High School and is a member of the USU-Eastern Ambassador program.
Another Freshman performer, Brian Hobbs shares his thoughts on the Fall Sing performance, “I’m really excited for two numbers, especially that the Chamber Choir is doing, Flight Song and Loch Lomond. They’ve been the majority of our choir’s favorite songs to work on, a little be challenging but quite rewarding and quite beautiful.” This young man is a local who graduated from Carbon High School.
There will be more events that will taking place for both groups, a collaboration with USU Logan will be held on October 28 at 3:00 pm at Carbon High School Auditorium. In December, there will be three performances, the community Messiah on December 3, Festival of Carols on December 5 and 6, then a piano and vocal student recital on December 7 will close out the month.
Choir Instructor, Larry Martin carefully chooses melodies that will push the students’ vocal techniques. To learn more on USU-Eastern Choir Department visit their website at https://usueastern.edu/music/choir
