Carbon School District in collaboration with Carbon County’s CARE Coalition would like to invite families to their Family Night gathering. The event will be held on Monday, October 30 at 5:30 pm till 8:00 pm at Carbon High School located at 750 East 400 North. This is a free event with dinner, child care for ages 2 to 4 years of age, informational booths and door prizes.
“For this Family Night, one of the major parts of the event will be that our Superintendent Dr. Lance Hatch will be there to sing and entertain with the children,” said Robert Cox, Director of Carbon School District Student Services. “It’s a perfect opportunity if you have not yet met Dr. Hatch to come out and meet him. He is wonderful and he’s really excited about the things that are happening in Carbon County, excited about the things that are happening in our school district.” The Superintendent began his duties with the district in August of this year.
Attendees will be able to enjoy a special keynote speaker. “Our guest speaker is going to be Christian Moore and he is the creator of WhyTry. That is an evidence program that he has taken all over the world and has just made a huge impact, he’s a dynamic speaker,” Alisa Morley, Carbon School District IGP Grant Director. “I’m really excited about the Family Night because I feel like it’s an opportunity for people to come out and really see all the good that Carbon County has. I’ve been working with the school district and there is so many good things happening in the district for the kids.” The WhyTry program combines visual metaphors with other multisensory learning tools, such as music, activities, journaling, video, and engaging discussion to deliver social and emotional skills to youth of all learning types.
The purpose for the event is to build resilience and strength not only within the district but as a community. For more information about the Family Night contact the Carbon School District Office at 637-1732.
