The USU-Eastern Theatre Department is set to show their second production of the school year, a comic play by Noel Coward entitled Blithe Spirit. The play will show on November 30, December 1 and 2, then picks up again on December 7 through the 9 at 7:30 pm each evening in the Peterson Black Box Theatre located in the Central Instruction Building.

“Blithe Spirit takes place in southern of London and it’s basically just a comedic farce where a wealthy writer is trying to find inspiration for his new book,” stated Stage Manager, Chris Vlamkis. “He invites over to his house a psychic or medium, so he can simply gather notes alongside with his wife and they inadvertently summon the spirit of his first wife who has been dead for seven years.” The play originated back in 1941 and has been a favorite over the years for many theatre companies.

The Peterson Black Box Theatre box office will open at 6:30 pm each night. The cost is $12.00 for adults, $9.00 for senior citizens, $7.00 for USU-E faculty and staff, $5.00 for children and $3.00 for USU-Eastern students with their current student ID.

In February, the Theatre Department will present the production Steel Magnolias, which is a stage play by American writer Robert Harling.
