The Emery Spartans were unable to match the depth of the North Sevier Wolves, falling 54-28 in a wrestling dual Thursday night in Salina.

Returning to the mat for the first time since traveling to Salem Hill for a two-day tournament, the Spartans earned five wins during the varsity meet. Due to lack of bodies the Spartans were forced to forfeit at four separate weight classes.

Thursday’s meet is the only competition of the week for the Spartans. The team will return to competition next Friday and Saturday with a trip to Manti. Also ahead on the schedule is a dual with the Carbon Dinos on Dec. 19.
