Emery High School seniors Easton Gordon and Colton Willson have been named to the 3A All-State Football Second Team for the 2017 season.

Voted on by coaches throughout the 3A classification, Gordon received the nod for his play in the secondary as a safety for the Spartans. Willson was recognized for his play offensively at wide receiver. Fellow seniors Drake Hoffman and Jared Snow both received Honorable Mentions for their contributions.

Gordon tied for the team lead in interceptions with three, while also recording 57 solo tackles. Gordon was also a key fixture out of the backfield for the Spartans throughout the season.

Willson became a key target for first year starting quarterback Kyson Stilson. Leading the team in receptions with 52, Willson found the end zone on four separate occasions and accumulated 647 yards through the air.

Hoffman provided veteran leadership on the offensive line, playing a near flawless season as center. Defensively he also managed to record 43 solo tackles.

Snow tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns with four, but also provided consistency on defensive at corner.

The Spartans finished their second season under head coach Jon Faimalo with an overall record of 1-9, and lost in the opening round of the state tournament to the Richfield Wildcats.
