Katie (Katherine) Mary Rebol Saccomanno passed through the veil on December 15, 2017 in her daughter’s Spring Glen home at the age of 98.

She was born October 1, 1919 to John Rebol and Katrina O’Grenic Rebol in Hiawatha, Utah. On June 14, 1937 she married Hugh Saccomanno in Price, Utah.

Katie lived a selfless life in dedication to her family. She worked alongside her husband on their Spring Glen farm, for most of her adult life. Much of how she experienced the world was through books, as her love of reading was second only to her family. She became knowledgeable about a variety of subjects and taught herself valuable skills such as cooking, sewing, and typing by reading about them in books. Katie found joy in preparing sweets such as chocolate cookies, apple strudel, and potica for others even though she couldn’t enjoy them herself. She also found happiness in long walks on the mountainside, polka music, and Coca-Cola.

She is survived by children Katherine (Boyd) Anderson, Bill (Connie) Saccomanno, daughter-in-law Delores Slavensky, 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Pauline (Max) Faylor, Elsie (Joe) Bonino, John (baby), John (Josie) Rebol, and Annie (child), her husband Hugh, and her son Hugh Frank.

In accordance with her wishes, no funeral services will be held. A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 1275 Fairfax RD,
Salt Lake, UT 84103, or call 801-536-3500. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome to share memories of Katie online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
