The Emery Spartans were unable to overcome four empty weight forfeits, which ultimately led to a 51-27 loss to the Beaver Beavers on the road Wednesday night.

Participating in the final dual meet before the weekend 3A Dual Tournament in Richfield, the Spartans and Beavers battled to a 27-27 tie in the classes that both squads participated in. The determining factors came at the 160, 182, 195 and 220 weight classes where Emery had no competing wrestlers.

Following the weekend trip to Richfield, the Spartans will return home on Tuesday, Jan. 9 for a dual against the South Sevier Rams.
