Castleview Hospital has worked diligently on their strategic plan the last few years implementing improvements to their facilities and bringing additional of health care providers to the area so that they can provide the best health care.
“20-17 really was a great year, some of the highlights that we were able to experience this year where we were able to build and open up our Urgent Care and not only that but we’re able to expand the scope of that building to where we have a retail pharmacy with a drive-up window,” said CEO, Mark Holyoak. The Urgent Care is an extension of the hospital that prides itself on being able to provide quality medical care for patients with busy schedules.
There has been an addition of some physicians that took place this year. “We added David McOmber who’s in neurology he joined Dr. Buchanan’s practice. We just added full-time cardiologist Dr. Marcus Brann. We always look and see, what service is needed in the community and if it’s a service that we can do and we can do it well, we’re all over it,” stated Holyoak. The process in bringing in a new physician is quite lengthy so to assure that they are a good fit and will provide a great service to patients.
The healthcare improvements that have been made by the hospital have not gone unnoticed nationally. “We were listed as one of America’s top 100 hospitals and then shortly after we heard that in the spring, then we found out that we are also listed as one of American’s top 20 rural and community hospitals,” stated Holyoak. The hospital also received a couple of Quality Awards from the State Department of Health in Patient Satisfaction and in the Quality Outcomes.
The hospital is already got some big plans in the works for 2018. “We’re look at opening up a new service of medical, substance abuse, detox, as well as some behavior health components. So that is something that will hopefully we’ll be able to get the funding approved and get the architectural plans in place and be able to do that construction as well,” said Holyoak. This addition would be developed in a wing of the hospital that will coordinate with the hospital’s social worker who will offer 100 percent outpatient counseling. The hope is to have this service up and rolling by the beginning of 2019.
The hospital would like to thank the community for their support.
