PRICE, UTAH – Utah State Eastern’s Agatha Roese-Olsen signed a Letter of intent on Thursday to continue her volleyball career at Westminster College.
Roese-Olsen will graduate this spring from Utah State Eastern and then transfer to Westminster in Salt Lake City in the Fall for her final two years of eligibility.
“I chose Westminster becasue of three things: I love the coaching staff, the school is amazing and my academics have always been a big deal to me, and third, it is close to my parents and home,” said Roese-Olsen.
Roese-Olsen was among the top setters in the country and was ranked in several statistical categories.
Utah State Eastern volleyball coach Danielle Jensen said that Roese-Olsen has been an integral part of her first two years as coach and will be missed.
“It is going to be hard to replace her but we are so lucky to have had her on the team and learn from her. We are so proud of her and excited for her to play at the next level,”
In 2017, she finished with 914 assists which is good for 18 in the country in that category. She also finished 15 in the country in assists per set with 9.62 assists per set.
“At times Aggie would take games into her own hands and push our team to the level they needed to be playing at,” said Jensen.
She was a team captain in 2017 and helped the Eagles to a 18-10 overall record and national recognition. The Eagles were in the top 20 poll nearly every week of the regular season.
“I love playing at Utah State Eastern, I couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls or coaches. I know the coaches have always been there for me and wanted the best for me,” said Roese-Olsen.
Off the floor Roese-Olsen has received numerous academic awards and has a 3.85 grade point average.
She is a native of Provo and attended Timpview High before coming to USU Eastern. She is the daughter of Walter and Monique Roese.
