The Carbon Lady Dinos logged their second consecutive win by blowout fashion, earning a season series sweep of the Delta Rabbits in the process with a 58-27 victory on the road Thursday night.

Abbie Saccomanno poured in a game-high 18 points to lead the Lady Dinos in the convincing win. Jodi Noyes scored 13 points, and Kelsey Sorenson chipped in with 12. Thursday’s win moves Carbon to 6-2 in division play.

Outscoring Delta 19-8 in the opening quarter, Carbon’s defense kept the Rabbits under double figures in each of the four quarters. Thursday’s contest ended in similar fashion to the first meeting between the two schools, which Carbon won 58-23.

Shaylee Fowles ended with a team leading seven points for the Rabbits. Brinley Henrie scored six, and Ashlee Nielson finished with three.

Now 6-2 in Region 14 play, Carbon is currently in sole possession of third place. Tuesday the Lady Dinos will return to the court for a massive battle with the second place Juab Wasps.

Juab currently holds a one game lead over Carbon in the standings. The two teams met back on Dec. 12 in the region opener. The Wasps earned a 52-45 win. Tuesday’s game will take place at Carbon High School, and is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m..
