During the last snow storm, Carbon County Road Department were busy out clearing the roads to make them safe for vehicles traveling around in the county. However, drivers ran into a few issues preventing them from carefully and properly removing the snow.

They would like to remind citizens to not place snow from their yard on to across any public road. This can cause a traffic hazard for vehicles due to sight. If a trail of snow is made directly across the road it can become packed, icy, generate ridges on the road, it can narrow roadways and cause drainage issues. This forces snow plows having to make additional passages that can cost additional time, it can cause damage to the equipment which can result in costly repairs, as well as, triggering significant damage to the surface of the roads.

Winter is a very difficult time so if residents can do their part during and after a snow storm by not parking on the roads/streets to allow snow plows to safely get through and for homeowners to safely remove the snow from their driveways and sidewalks will help the road department to accomplish their job in the most effective way possible.
