The Emery County Sheriff’s Office compiling a roster of qualified individuals that may be selected to fill any openings for a Dispatcher 1 position.
Those interested in a dispatch position will need to submit resume and a type test by going to www.speedtypingonline.com Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age and citizen of the United States. Applicants will be disqualified if they have been convicted, as defined under Utah law, of (a) any felony; (b) any Class A Misdemeanor; (c) domestic violence; (d) Class B Misdemeanor DUI within the last five years; or (e) any criminal offense involving moral turpitude. Dispatchers must be able to successfully complete BCI Terminal Operator Class if hired. Applicants for employment may be required to undergo a drug test and a background check as a condition of employment. The deadline for submitting a resume and employment application will end on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 5:00 pm.
The Police Officer Selections Test (POST) will be administered and the cost to take the exam will be $20.00. The examination will be designed to fairly test the mental ability and knowledge of the applicants in regards to the three different positions. Applicants will be notified of more details when the date for testing has been set.
