The Carbon Dinos defeated the Maeser Prep Lions 65-56, snapping a five game losing skid in the process, Wednesday evening at home.
Trailing 22-17 at the end of the first quarter, the Dinos rallied to outscore the Lions 36-18 in the next two quarters.
Senior Jordan Vasquez scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Dinos to their first win since Jan. 5. The victory moves Carbon into fifth place in the Region 14 standings, trailing Juab by one game in the loss column.
Derek Hillam helped push a balanced Carbon offensive attack with 15 points. Colin Lewis converted three shots from deep on his way to 11 points, and Ryan Gagon scored nine. The win gives Carbon a season series sweep over Maeser Prep.
Grant Garner pace the Lions with 16 points as the team dropped their seventh straight contest. Dillon Frost finished with nine, and Gavin Garner and Jon Wellman ended with seven.
With only two games remaining in the regular season, the Dinos will enter a bye on Friday before returning to the court on Wednesday. The final two games of the season will take place at home against Union and American Leadership.
