Each year the Soroptimist International of Price hosts two big fundraisers, one in November which is the wine tasting event and the other is the Paint and Sip Night taking place this month.  This event will be held on Saturday, February 10 at the Carbon Country Club from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

“This is a time for couples or girls’ night out to get together and just have fun making a nice easy painting. It’s more about socializing and just enjoying the night, because everybody has a little bit of skills and everybody ends up walking away with a really cool painting,” said Soroptimist member, Terry Willis. Although, everyone will be painting the same scenery guests will leave with their own unique painting.

The event is open to anyone over the age of 21 years old, seating is limited and tickets are selling fast. “What your admission pays for is of course two drink tickets and that can be wine or beer; also, a dessert and it includes all of your supplies and the instruction for the night,” said Willis. Cocktails and/or a desire for a different wine than what is being served will be available at the bar. The cost for tickets will be $40.00 per person and $75.00 per couple, a couple may consist of any two people. Tickets are available by calling (435) 650-4028.

All the proceeds from the annual event stay in the community and fund projects that benefit women and girls. Projects that Soroptimist have helped in the past have been The Women’s Shelter, The East Carbon Clinic, Carbon County Jail – Women’s section, Eastern Utah Women’s Health Clinic, as well as a few grants to assist low income, head of household women to continue their education to better the lives of their families.
