The United Way of Eastern Utah will be hosting one of their famous All You Can Eat Luncheon for the entire community to attend. The All You Can Eat Soup, Salad & Breadsticks event will take place on Friday, February 9 from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm at the Notre Dame Hope Community Center located at 185 North Carbon Ave.
“First of all this is one of our fundraisers that we do for United Way and all of the different programs that we run out of our office. So, this is our first one this year, we’re very excited about it,” said Director, Cheryl Thayn. “It’s soup, salad and breadsticks all you can eat for $5.00. We’ll be having some fun things going on during the time, kind of learning about United Way does and what the proceeds go to and things like that.” This a great time for the community to meet the United Way Board of Directors, as they will be assisting with the serving of the meal.
The luncheon will be able to accommodate guests who are unable to sit down and enjoy their meal at the center. “We have to-go containers, you can call in and order at the Hope Center if you want to or anybody that you know from United Way. The soup will be awesome, so yea, give us a call and we can get you a food order,” stated Thayn. The soups will be prepared by Jaimee Tolich who cooked the amazing chili for the all you can eat event back in October last year.
The United Way of Eastern Utah has various programs that assist folks in both Carbon and Emery Counties like the Soles2Souls Shoe Program, Live.Love.Local Cancer Assistance Program, as well as the Angel Tree Program, and Youth Scholarship Program. The proceeds earned will benefit all of the organization’s programs.
On February 24 there will be a Soles 2 Souls Dance Benefit held at the Carbon High School Auditorium. event will begin at 1:00 pm and feature various performance by local dance companies. Admission is $2.00 per person or $5.00 per family with the proceeds going to Carbon and Emery county children in Carbon and Emery who cannot afford new shoes for school.
