The Emery Spartans delivered a solid performance at the 3A Divisional Tournament in Richfield this past Saturday, qualifying 15 of the 18 participating wrestlers for the State Championship Tournament.

A.C. Reeve posted the lone first place finish, dominating the competition with a perfect 3-0 record in the 285-pound weight class. Newt Oveson, McKay Meccariello, and Korby Christiansen all finished second.

All participating wrestlers needed to finish inside the top eight in order to move on to the State Championship on Feb. 9 and 10 at Utah Valley University. The 3A classification was divided into two groups, taking the top 16 wrestlers from each weight class.
